Schools

Originally the Boyne Valley area was populated by a handful of one-room schoohouses spread throught the region. Their were five school districts, each with it own schoolhouse.

School #2 burned in 1919. At that time, the village decided to construct a centralized, consolidated school disctrict. A bus transportation system was set up so that the school childred would not have to walk for miles to get to school. Some of the early schools are pictured in the gallery, found below.

In 1946 the school burned and once again a new school had to be built. It was constructed on the north side of the village. School was orignally held in the newly constructed gymnasium while the rest of the school was built. In 1967 a new addition was added east of the gym for the elementary students.
The school was replaced in 2000 with a new school, located west of the village.
